Poestenkill Falls is best accessed by car. From downtown Troy, take Congress Street east, which turns into NY-2 E/Pawling Ave. Continue on NY-2 E for several miles. Look for signs for Poestenkill Falls. Parking is available near the trailhead. Unfortunately, there is no direct bus route to Poestenkill Falls. You may be able to take a bus to a nearby location and then walk, but this is not recommended due to the distance and lack of sidewalks in some areas.
